How often should I have my gas fireplace serviced?

What's included in a gas fireplace cleaning?

How long does a cleaning appointment take?
Most appointments take 45 to 60 minutes. If your fireplace needs repairs or replacement parts, your technician explains the options before going any further.
Can I clean my gas fireplace myself?
You can wipe down the exterior and clean the outside of the glass. Internal parts should only be serviced by a licensed gas technician, because DIY cleaning can damage components and lead to unsafe operation.
Why is my fireplace glass foggy or white?
A white or cloudy film on the glass is a common build-up from normal operation. It needs the right cleaner to remove it safely, and it's cleaned as part of every service. Read the guide.

Repairs and troubleshooting
My fireplace won't ignite. What should I do?
Check that the pilot light is lit, the gas valve is open, and the batteries in your remote or wall switch are fresh. If it still won't start, turn the unit off and book a diagnostic visit. A licensed technician will find and fix the problem safely.
Why won't my pilot light stay lit?
The most common causes are a dirty pilot assembly, a weak thermocouple or thermopile, or a gas supply issue. Read the guide.

What happens if my fireplace needs parts or repairs?
If a part is worn or damaged, we send you a digital quote within 24 to 72 hours for approval before any work begins. We focus on restoring your existing fireplace rather than replacing it unnecessarily. See common repairs.

Safety
Is it dangerous to skip annual maintenance?
It can be. Dust, residue and wear can cause ignition delays, poor combustion or gas build-up. A yearly cleaning helps prevent these risks and keeps your fireplace working reliably.
What should I do if I smell gas?
Leave your home right away. Don't use light switches, phones or anything that could cause a spark inside. Once you're outside, call your gas utility's emergency line or 911.
Are your technicians licensed and insured?
Yes. Our technicians are TSSA-licensed gas technicians, fully insured and WSIB covered, and trained every year on new fireplace technology and Ontario safety standards.
Pricing and booking
How much does a gas fireplace cleaning cost?
Pricing depends on your type of fireplace: single-sided fireplaces and gas log sets are $149.99, double-sided are $199.99, three-sided are $249.99, and linear or frameless units are $349.99. Pricing is upfront, with no surprises.
How much does a repair visit cost?
The service call and diagnostic is $149.99 plus HST and covers the first hour onsite. Additional diagnostic time is $50 per 30 minutes, only with your approval. If you go ahead with the repair, the diagnostic fee is applied to it.
